If you were an avid Kapamilya fan during the early 2000's, you might remember a certain talented young man called John Wayne Sace.

The quintessential boy-next-door had his debut TV appearance in 'Home Along Da Airport,' a year after he was recognized as 'Best Child Performer' for his performance in 'Dekada '70.'

He was also part of the all-boy dance group called 'Anime,' most of whom also top-billed the hit supernatural TV show 'Spirits.'

Knowing all that, you might be wondering what happened to John Wayne Sace, and why his career suddenly plummeted after skyrocketing.

Well, recall that he had one last TV appearance in 'Forevermore,' where he played a cameo alongside stars Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. Even then, fans already noticed the dramatic change in John Wayne's appearance.

Some reckoned that he was battling a serious illness, while others mulled if he had been having trouble with illegal substances!

What most people don't know, though, is that John Wayne Sace actually took a long showbiz hiatus after life-altering incident way back 2016.

In October that year, John Wayne had a run-in with a riding-in-tandem. He was maimed while his companion and friend, Erik Sabino, was fatally injured in the shootout.

That incident which took place in Pasig City must have been bothersome for John Wayne. See, eyewitnesses say the two ended up in a pool of their own blood after the two suspects shot them repeatedly.

It could not have helped Sace's emotions that Sabino eventually passed away after the shooting incident.

PNP-Pasig confirmed that John Wayne Sace and Erik Sabino have long been in the government's watchlist of illegal substance users! This confirmed speculations as to why the young actor appeared sick, thin, and fragile when he last appeared on TV.

This whole experience must have been very difficult for the former child star, and we could only hope that he recovers from this and turns his life around. Godspeed, John Wayne!
