Here's some good news. Keeping the air in your home fresh and healthy need not be expensive. As a matter of fact, you just need a couple of houseplants to convert air from dirty to clean!

1. Aloe Vera

One of the things that make air dirty and unhealthy is formaldehyde. Now, aloe vera is amazing in its ability to neutralize formaldehyde! The enzymes and amino acids that this plant expels into the air also help disinfect the air in enclosed spaces. So if you have a room that doesn't have that many openings for air, an aloe vera plant might just do the trick for you.

2. Weeping Fig

This tough plant could sprawl at heights that could reach 10 feet! It removes benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene from the air, ensuring that the air you take in your body has been cleaned out and won't cause your body unwanted side effects.

3. Bamboo Palm

Don't have enough moolah to afford a humidifer when you need it the most? All you have to do is run to the nearest plant depot and get yourself a bamboo palm. If you have small corners in your house where it gets stuffy and difficult to breathe, a pot of bamboo palms will be your bestfriend.

4. Rubber Plant

Aside from all its health benefits, rubber plants are really low-maintenance, so if you want to keep a houseplant while still being on the go, here's the one for you. It can be kept either indoors or outdoors, as it is highly adaptive to various kinds of environment.

5. Mother-In-Law's Tongue

NASA itself says that this plant could remove over 100 air pollutants! It also has a high oxydization rate. This means this is a good plant to keep by your bedside if you find it hard to sleep at night because of how hot and stuffy it gets in enclosed spaces because of how awesome it is at producing oxygen to last you the whole night.

6. Boston Fern

This is another go-to plant in terms of getting rid of that pesky formaldehyde in the air. Not to mention, it looks totally rad and would brighten up any garden!

7. Peace Lily

Now, on to the most beautiful plant in this lineup. Take note -- peace lilies can be really expensive if you try to buy one, but let me tell you that it's totally worth it. If you like using stuff that have sizable carbon footprints, then you can negate that just by having a few peace lily pots right at home!
