Netizen, Pinagkaguluhan ang Kakaiba at Malalaking Huli ng mga Mangingisda dito Lamang sa Pilipinas

As an archipelago, the Philippines is innately surrounded by bodies of water. Because of this, marine life in the Philippines is one of the vastest and the most beautiful in the world. Also because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the largest body of water in Earth, the Philippines boasts a lot of majestic finds in its waters.


One such creature recently surfaced the land after local fishermen were able to catch several of its kind. The whole thing was documented on social media and since then, it has caught the attention of netizens online.

The big catch was uploaded by McAdam Datucali Pundaodaya from Sultan Naga Dimaporo in Lanao Del Norte. In the photos, we can see the size of their haul! It  was almost as big as one human and weighed so much that two people were needed to bring it to shore!

Not only that, the fishermen were also able to bring in more than one fish! But the post was gaining negative traction after some netizens commented that the fishes were part of an endangered species that must not be caught. According to them, the locals of Lanao Del Norte should have worked together to keep these species safe, instead of catching them for food.

Others felt sad about the fact that the fishermen did not know the type of fish they caught, but they still did. They said that the locals should have just let the fish alone, especially since they were unable to determine if their catch was edible or not.

Nevertheless, some netizens were able to make the dire situation funny and remarked that it would take several liters of oil to fry these fishes! Their jokes made the situation lighter, but the prevailing issue must not be forgotten. The government must double its efforts to educate its citizens on which of our fauna are in danger to make sure that these beautiful creatures are witnessed by the next generations to come.
