Nick was smiling from ear to ear when he read the e-mail on his phone from his boss:

Right then and there Nick planned his itinerary. He also immediately informed his mother of his plan once he arrived home. He even asked her mom if she would like to go with him to Vigan. After all, it has always been a family dream to go. But her mother begged off, saying she had to wait for some deliveries Nicky ordered.

Nicky was Nick's twin sister, who also cannot make it with him to the trip. So off he went, alone.

As Nick was walking along the historic and picturesque Calle Crisologo, he felt a pang in his chest as he really missed his sister. So he sent her a text message saying, "Hey sis. I'm finally in Vigan. Isn't this your dream? I bet you feel so envious hahaha"

Despite that naughty text, Nick went on to take a million photos he knew her sister would love to see. He also spent thousands buying souvenirs for Nicky and their mom!

He spent many wonderful days in beautiful Vigan, but after 45 days, it was finally time to go home. Nick's mother welcomed him with an embrace, but the man was really tired from the long travel. So he simply handed his mom the huge bag of souvenirs he bought and said, "I'll sleep now, Mom, please just take these to Nicky, I'm sure you'd both love what I got for you!"

But he barely made it to 4am when Nicky suddenly touched his forehead lightly, and told him to get up already.

"But sis, it's so early! Why are you waking me up in the wee hours of the morning?"

That's when he noticed that Nicky's eyes were red from crying. "Just get up, Nick, and help Mama prepare food. A lot of guests will come."

Nick listened to his twin, as he always does. When he arrived at the living room, true enough, a lot of people are starting to pour in. Nick fell to the ground, crying and screaming, when he realized what was going on.

His mother rushed to comfort him and said, "Hush now, Nick, your sister's been gone 40 days. Surely she wants to see a smile, not tears, on your face!"

That's when he remembered that Nicky breathed her last while he was still in Vigan. All those photographs and souvenirs, never even made it to her beloved sister, who was gone too young and too unfairly. In my mind, Nick cussed out c4nc3r for taking his twin sister away.
