One of the hardest parts of being an OFW is being away from your family on special occasions. Greeting them on social media will never suffice, but sometimes, it is the best you can do given the circumstances.

This is why this seaman wanted to greet her wife a Happy New Year, to make up for the fact that he could not hold, hug, and kiss the love of his life as the clock strikes twelve.

It was a sweet gesture, so he surely did not expect this kind of response.

Instead of lovingly replying to her husband's greeting, the wife seemed to have other things in mind. She started berating her husband as to why she hasn't received her allotment yet! She went on and enumerated all the bills she claims to need money for.

What a way to start the year for the seaman, right?

At this point, the seaman still did not lose his cool. He calmly explained to his wife that the allotment must have just gotten delayed. He even apologized to his wife, and chided in her that he hasn't even gotten any sleep, due to the nature of their shifting work.

Instead of showing sympathy, the wife still went on with her tirade, asking her husband to ask for cash advances.

Worse, she even cursed the man.

Unfortunately, the rest of the conversation has not been made public, but what you saw is enough for most netizens to lose their cool in behalf of the man. Most social media users felt pain in what they read, and they advised the woman to think about the hardships her husband must be enduring just to provide for the family.

It takes patience and sacrifice to work as an OFW, but this man's wife appears to have no appreciation of his hard work!

Hopefully, the man was still able to enjoy a bit of New Year's celebration while at work, but it's hard to imagine how he could have done so if this is what he gets from his wife after just greeting her for the holidays.
