Hashtag Mccoy de Leon falls from the Black Nazarene float twice during Traslacion!
It is the ultimate test of faith.
Every year, devotees of the Black Nazarene commemorate the Señor's journey from its original shrine in Intramuros to the Minor Basilica in Quiapo.
Through the Traslacion, a gruelling 22-hour procession, the faithful show their devotion to the Lord. At times, it gets dangerous and even fatal. But that doesn't stop devotees, which come from all different walks of life. Even the rich and the famous bow down to the Nazareno.
This year, for instance, Kapamilya stars like Coco Martin and Hashtag Mccoy de Leon continued with their panata despite already living their dream life. More than anything, they just had to thank the Black Nazarene for hearing their prayers!
This is why Mccoy de Leon cannot help but be proud even if his feet ended up looking like this after the procession:
He also revealed that while attempting to go face-to-face with the Poon, he actually fell from the andas-- twice!
What's even more impressive is that the rising dancer went through all that alone. He narrated in his Instagram post how he actually hesitated to go, since he knew how difficult it would be to battle the multi-million-crowd without a companion.
In the end, he said it was the people who entrusted to him their prayers that strengthened his resolve to go through the Traslacion. He was then rewarded with the chance to personally thank the Poon for all the blessings he has been receiving.
He was also able to bring home a face towel that he wiped off the Nazareno. He said it would be a gift to his father -- Mark de Leon-- who started in him this annual tradition of joining the Traslacion.
May God bless you more and more, Mccoy!
